The Express Newspaper have reported today that several former companions are being lined up for Doctor Who's 50th Anniversary which will take place in next year.
They claim that Karen Gillan and Billie Piper are expected to return, even though both of them have made it clear they are done with the show and will not be returning.
A source told the newspaper: "There will be plenty of nods to the show’s remarkable history and some old faces are likely to be reappearing. Karen and Billie are two of the Doctor’s greatest companions and it’s hoped they will be involved.
It is also understood that Carole Ann Ford, who played the Doctor’s first-ever television companion Susan Foreman alongside original Time Lord the late William Hartnell back in the mists of 1963 could be among those appearing."
As usual, this is a rumour and has not been confirmed by the BBC.
