Doctor Who: Series 8 Confirmed & Moffat Warns Fans Over Rumours

After all the negativity surrounding the Series 7 leak on Sunday. We can finally bring you some positive news! Steven Moffat confirmed that Doctor Who Series 8 will be happening. Moffat was speaking at the BAfTA 2013 ceremony last night and revealed that he was already actively working on plans for the eighth series to have be commissioned since Doctor Who returned to our screens in 2005.

He was happy to confirm the shows return whilst chatting to Digital Spy and was also rather surprised at the amount of people worried whether it would or not:
"This is a thing that just seems to have slipped by... so can I say it very firmly - series eight is absolutely, definitely confirmed," Moffat said.
"It is real and it's happening - it's [taking up] most of my time at the moment."
Moffat added that he is unsure why some Doctor Who fans remain unclear about the show's fate.
"I get people telling me [that series eight is] not really happening," he explained. "It really, definitely, honestly is!"
Moffat also gave an interview with Red Carpet News and was keen to point out that fans should be cautious about rumours and apparent spoilers regarding Novembers 50th Anniversary episode. You can catch the interview in full below:

Doctor Who The Name Of The Doctor is broadcast this Saturday the 18th of May on BBC One at 7:00pm, whilst the 50th Anniversary episode is scheduled for November.
