My name is Kate Monroe, and I’m delighted to introduce myself as the newest member of the team here at The Gallifrey Times. I’ve been a Doctor Who fan since I was a child, despite growing up in the barren period between the cancellation of the original series and the 2005 revival. My love affair with all things Whovian began with a chance glimpse of Daleks: Invasion Earth 2150 AD. I was immediately hooked, and though my mother tried to steer me towards all things Disney, that day sparked a lifelong fascination with Doctor Who that only increased when Christopher Eccleston breathed new life into it in 2005.
Of all the classic doctors, I will always have a soft spot for Tom Baker. Jelly babies and long, striped scarves never fail to make me smile, and perhaps it’s that fondness for the Doctor’s quirks that in turn made Matt Smith my favourite of the new series’ doctors. However, everything comes to an end, and as we prepare ourselves for the excitement of the anniversary and regeneration, I can’t wait to find out what new journeys the Twelfth Doctor will lead us on. This is a fantastic time to be a Doctor Who fan, and I’m looking forward to sharing the adventure with you all here at The Gallifrey Times.
