One of the actors to previously play the role of the Doctor has hinted he may be appearing in November's 50th Anniversary Special. The 75 minute episode, which this week was announced to be called 'The Day of the Doctor', has been confirmed to star Matt Smith, David Tennant and John Hurt all taking on the show's titular role, but now it seems they may not be the only Doctors in the episode.
Speaking to ITV's Daybreak, Fifth Doctor Peter Davison revealed he has a copy of the script for the anniversary show.
"I've heard lots of rumours, none of which I’m allowed to tell you anything about. I’m privy to them actually. I have got a copy of the script which has got my name embossed across it.
"So it’s top secret, but there’s other stuff, lots of other things that are going on that people should keep their eye open for around the 50th anniversary special!"The full storyline for 'The Day of the Doctor' is a closely-guarded secret. It is thought that only those closely involved in the episode have seen the script, and each one is watermarked with the actor or crew member's name to prevent any leaks. If Davison is telling the truth, this is the strongest hint yet that a Classic Doctor will be involved in the anniversary show, as was suggested by the Radio Times back in July.
'The Day of the Doctor' will be simulcast worldwide on November 23rd.
