The fact that the new series of Doctor Who doesn't air until this upcoming fall hasn't seemed to have deterred enthusiastic fans from already placing their preorders for The Complete Eighth Series on Amazon. Filming has barely begun, and we don't even know the number of episodes in the series -- let alone extras -- but already the DVD set has been rated five stars out of five by some strangely time traveling Whovians. A fan shared his thoughts on The Complete Eighth Series in an enthusiastic review sent from the future/past:
I ordered this DVD next week, and was delighted to find it had arrived by Christmas 2007. Capaldi absolutely nails the role, and Steven Moffat plays an eerily frightening Valeyard, even if the casting choice seems a little dubious. The return of Davros was handled superbly, the series arc was remarkably well-plotted, and the Kandyman's comeback was as terrifically shot as Series 12's "Vengeance of that Seaweed-looking Thing from that episode Pertwee or someone probably did" (a stand-out gem in a series which generally seemed as though they'd just stopped trying). 5/5, would definitely Capaldi again. This fan wasn't the only one -- several other time travelers joined in to sing praises of the yet-to-be-filmed series. Clearly, we've got a classic of a series on our hands this autumn!
