Doctor Who: 50th Anniversary Collection DVD Coming Soon

Doctor Who's 50th anniversary special, The Day of the Doctor, was released on DVD last year - but the release left out all of the special programmes shown by the BBC to celebrate the anniversary.

However, the BBFC have classified new DVD extras which hint towards a special 50th Anniversary Collection DVD/Blu-ray coming soon. The extras that have been classified are as follows:
  • Cinema intros starring Matt Smith, David Tennant (and Strax) which were originally shown exclusively before cinema screenings of The Day of the Doctor.
  • The Ultimate Guide to Doctor Who - a two-hour documentary originally shown last year on BBC Three
  • The Science of the Doctor Who presented by Brian Cox, originally shown last year on BBC Two
  • 60 minutes of 'additional production material' - possibly the multiple interviews released online with the stars of The Day of the Doctor last year, with added exclusives
Details are scarce currently on the DVD, but it seems to be a re-release of The Day of the Doctor, alongside several extra programmes making their DVD debut. It's currently unconfirmed if the DVD will contain An Adventure in Space and Time or spoof The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot, but we'll keep you updated with details when they arrive.
