The Doctor's New Boots Are NOT Doc Martens

"Kindly refrain from referring to them as Doc Martens!" the Doctor snapped, channeling his former self as Clara admired his new outfit.

This potential idea for a future scene comes after the BBC posted a tweet admitting that the boots to be worn by Peter Capaldi's Doctor, are not, as they suggested in the big reveal on Monday, Doc Martens.

The boots are actually made by Loake - a footwear firm based in Kettering with a warrant of appointment to the Queen - and it has been discovered that Peter Capaldi bought the boots himself.

In a report in the Daily Telegraph, Nicholas Roumana, the owner of the BBC - that's British Boot Company, not to be confused with our beloved beeb - said:
Peter Capaldi came in a week or two before Christmas and said he was looking for a pair of smart dress boots. I suggested this one, because not only is it very smart, it's exclusive to us and made in England. It's a great boot. He bought it in size 10.
According to further reports, a second pair was bought last week which are believed to be used by Capaldi's stunt double.

The new costume was analysed in article by the Telegraph, in which it transpired that Crombie apparently didn't make the new coat, despite it being labeled as a 'Crombie coat' by the BBC.
