What's Next For Steven Moffat On Doctor Who?

Although many Whovians may find aggression in our faithful writer, Steven Moffat has been lead writing Doctor Who for nearly 5 years now, and he's brought us tears (a LOT of them!), adventures and happiness within his time on the programme and also the popular drama Sherlock. The real question is, when will he be regenerating into a new writer, and leaving the position of executive producer and head writer?

Speaking in an interview with Assignment X, he spoke upon his future in both Doctor Who and Sherlock :
“You never know that in advance. If we weren’t enjoying it, or we didn’t think there was anything good left to do, we’d stop, but we haven’t reached that point yet, is all we can say.
“I can envision just doing [Sherlock] for a while – for quite a while, possibly. The fact that we only do it occasionally means it’s not swamping anyone’s schedule.
Finishing his answer, he added : “Eventually, I’ll stop doing Doctor Who, because it stops me doing anything else. But Sherlock doesn’t swamp my schedule, doesn’t swamp anyone. So I could imagine we’ll come back and do Sherlock fairly often for many years, rather than very often for a few years.”
What is your opinion on Steven? Do you want a new lead writer? Or, are you happy with Moffat? Let us know in the comments below.
