Doctor Who: Series 8 - New Details on Episodes 7 & 8

New details and pictures have been released for the currently filming Block Four of Doctor Who series eight, compromising episodes seven and eight of the new run.

The Crimson Field and Spooks star Hermione Norris will star in one of the Block Four episodes, penned by Peter Harness. The episode is currently filming on location Spanish island Lanzarote. Norris stated of her casting:
‘It’s exciting to be part of such an iconic show, and one that my kids can watch!!!’
Steven Moffat also shared his thoughts on Norris' casting, as well as teasing a return to an old location of a previous story with the Lanzarote filming:
‘It’s a testament to the quality of Peter Harness’s intense and emotional script, that we’ve been able to attract an actress of the brilliance of Hermione Norris. And for the first time since 1984, the Doctor Who production team is heading to Lanzarote. The Doctor is returning to the scene of an old adventure – but there have been sinister changes since his last visit.’
On the Lanzarote set, a make-up designer, Claire Pritchard, has tweeted a picture of a Lanzarote volcano, hinting at a volcanic location for the story, with a dry and desolate backdrop:

The story's location has yet to be confirmed - but rumours include the Moon (visited in The Moonbase), Sarn (visited in Planet of Fire and also filmed in Lanzarote in 1984) and possibly Pompeii, (visited in The Fires of Pompeii, also starring Peter Capaldi). It's yet to be confirmed, and could be something else entirely - but we'll keep you posted!
