Speaking to Digital Spy backstage at Wireless Festival, the Grammy award winner - real name Louisa Rose Allen - was reluctant to reveal whether her character will be sharing any scenes with new Doctor Peter Capaldi, but did say:
"I love him though. He's such a charmer. I was asked who I fancy between Matt [Smith] and him and I was like, 'Peter Capaldi!'"Foxes was similarly secretive about her character, divulging few details except:
"I'm not playing a villain. I think I'm nice in the show."She was, however, more forthcoming when talking about the song she will be performing during the episode, describing it as 'different' from the material on her debut album Glorious, and when asked about plans to release it said:
"It's one of those things where I wouldn't say no, but I don't really know yet."Series 8 of Doctor Who will begin airing in August with the feature-length opening episode Deep Breath. Foxes is slated to appear in the eighth episode of the run, which has been written by Jamie Mathieson (Being Human) and will also feature comedian Frank Skinner.
