Doctor Who: The World Tour Lands in Sydney, Australia!

Doctor Who stars Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman have been busy globe-trotting on their break from filming, kicking off the World Tour in Cardiff on 7 August. They land in Sydney tomorrow for the fourth stop on their tour to a sold-out stage at the State Theatre. Fans will be treated to a special screening of the series opener, “Deep Breath,” followed by a Q&A session.

Australia has a special tie to Doctor Who, as well. It is the birthplace of the original theme composer, the late Ron Grainer (whose birthday happens to be today), as well as companion Tegan Jovanka!

Helen Pendlebury, Head of Live Entertainment for BBC Worldwide Australia & New Zealand said of the World Tour stop:
Australia has some of the most passionate Doctor Who fans in the world and we are delighted to offer them access to the Twelfth Doctor and his companion when they visit Sydney as part of Doctor Who: The World Tour.”
Capaldi and Coleman travel to New York City next, then Mexico City, finally wrapping up the tour in Rio de Janeiro on 19 August. The 2014 Christmas special episode will begin filming sometime next month.
The Doctor returns to our screens next Saturday, 23 August.
