Doctor Who Director Fiona Cumming Dies Aged 77


Renowned Doctor Who director Fiona Cumming , best known for her extensive work in the Classic Who era, has died at the age of 77. Her many episodes included big stories within the Fifth Doctor Peter Davison's reign from his first, Castrovalva, to Planet of Fire and the arrival of Peri.

Her work also extended to many other works including Emmerdale and Blakes 7. She progressed as a freelance director after leaving the BBC as a Staff Director, continuing to work on many other programs.
