Doctor Who: Last Christmas - Final UK Viewing Figures

The consolidated viewing figures for the Christmas Special, Last Christmas, have been released.

The episode had 8.28 million viewers after a week of timeshifting - a rise of 1.94 million on the overnight figure of 6.34 million. That takes Doctor Who to sixth on Christmas Day, overtaking ITV's Coronation Street. That makes Last Christmas the least viewed Christmas Special yet, but notably in a year where ratings were down across the board.

The leaderboard for the ratings of the Christmas Specials are as follows:
  1. Voyage of the Damned (2007) - final rating of 13.31 million
  2. The Next Doctor (2008) - final rating of 13.10 million
  3. A Christmas Carol (2010) - final rating of 12.11 million
  4. The End of Time - Part 1 (2009) - final rating of 12.04 million
  5. The Time of the Doctor (2013) - final rating of 11.14 million
  6. The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe (2011) - final rating of 10.77 million
  7. The Snowmen (2012) - final rating of 9.87 million
  8. The Christmas Invasion (2005) - final rating of 9.84 million
  9. The Runaway Bride (2006) - final rating of 9.35 million
  10. Last Christmas (2014) - final rating of 8.28 million
The figure doesn't include those watching iPlayer online (thought it does include people watching iPlayer through a TV) - interestingly, Doctor Who was number one for 24 hours and was higher on the iPlayer charts all week than almost every other BBC One Christmas Day show.
