Doctor Who: Listen Nominated For Bram Stoker Award

Doctor Who's Listen, penned by the show's executive producer Steven Moffat, has been nominated for a Bram Stoker Award.

The annual Bram Stoker Awards are presented by the Horror Writers Association (HWA) for superior achievement in dark horror and fantasy writing, encompassing several categories such as novels and short stories as well as screenplays and non-fiction. Previous winners include Stephen King, J.K. Rowling and Moffat's fellow Doctor Who writer Neil Gaiman.

Although Listen's nomination for Superior Achievement in a Screenplay marks the first time an episode of Doctor Who has been nominated for a Bram Stoker Award, Moffat has achieved great success for his writing for Doctor Who elsewhere, garnering multiple nominations and wins at the Hugo Awards as well as a BAFTA Special Award for outstanding creative writing contribution to television.

Lisa Morton, HWA president and multiple Bram Stoker Award winner said of the nominations:
"This year’s nominees have not only penned remarkable works, they have raised the bar for exceptional writing and have helped shape the continuing evolution of the genre."
This year's recipients of the Bram Stoker Awards will be announced during a special ceremony as part of the World Horror Convention in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday 9th May 2015, and will also be live-streamed online. Tickets for the event and presentation are available at www.whc2015.org.
