However, despite the tough competition, Doctor Who has received two nominations in the prestigious 2015 Saturn Awards, which celebrate science-fiction, fantasy and horror shows. The Saturn Awards take place on 25th June.
While Peter Capaldi missed out on an acting nomination, Jenna Coleman received a nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a TV Series - with the fellow nominees being Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Melissa McBride & Emily Kinney (both The Walking Dead), Lexa Doig (Continuum) and Caroline Dhavernas (Hannibal).
And for the second nomination, the show itself received a nomination in the Best Youth-Orientated Television Shows category, facing off against hits such as The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, Teen Wolf, Pretty Little Liars and The 100.
