The BAFTA Cymru awards took place yesterday at a ceremony hosted by BBC Radio 1 presenter, Huw Stephens, at St David’s Hall, Cardiff. The Doctor Who production team won an award for 'Special and Visual Effects, Titles and Graphics' for the Series Nine opener The Magician's Apprentice.

Danny Hargreaves led the team at Real SFX to produce the special effects on the episode, while Milk VFX supplied the visual effects. The teams previously won a BAFTA Cymru award for their work on the 50th anniversary special, The Day of the Doctor.
