Originally released on LP and cassette in 1976, Doctor Who and the Pescatons was the very first officially-licensed Doctor Who audio drama, and excluding radio plays remained so until the introduction of Big Finish’s Doctor Who range in the late 1990s.
Starring Tom Baker (Fourth Doctor) and Elisabeth Sladen (Sarah Jane Smith), The Pescatons sees their characters defend London from a race of alien sharks who crash into the Thames on a meteorite and proceed to invade the capital. The drama was written by Victor Pemberton, who also wrote the Second Doctor television adventure Fury of the Deep.
The double LP release in gatefold sleeve with printed inners also includes Doctor Who: Sound Effects on orange vinyl. Originally released in 1978, Sound Effects features a wide variety of iconic sound effects from the Classic Era of the show.
Doctor Who and the Pescatons / Doctor Who Sound Effects will be available only on Record Store Day - Saturday 22nd April 2017. Visit the official site to find participating stores and determine availability.
